Alan S. Hans, DVM, Owner

Originally from Queens, New York, Dr. Alan Hans founded the Woodstock Animal Hospital in 1981 and the Port Ewen Animal Hospital in 1993. The Ark Animal Hospital was "born" in May of 2011. Dr. Hans did his undergraduate studies at SUNY Buffalo and Columbia University which led to veterinary studies at The University of Liege in Brussels, then internships at The Animal Medical Center in NYC and Cornell University in Ithica, New York. When Dr. Hans leaves the practice at night, he goes home to his 2 labs, Molly and Ben, and his cat Ella.

 Kim Chase - Practice Manager of Woodstock Animal Hospital

Kim Chase

Kim is a Woodstock native that has worked at the Woodstock Animal Hospital since December of 1988, and is the practice manager. She is a graduate of Onteora High School and Ulster County Community College. Kim and her husband Tom have two adult childen, Kate and Cody. Kim also has 2 great danes, Spencer and Grace, a mastiff mix, Cooper, 2 fuzzy felines, Jewel and Finn, 1 very large percheron horse, Goose (he came named), a goat named Libby, a flock of chickens and guenea hens.

Amber Boice

Amber grew up in Ravena, NY. She now lives in Catskill, with her boyfriend Jeremy and their 11 children (all kitties). Amber joined the Woodstock team in February 2010. Amber is the Kennel Manager, a vet assistant, and the groomer in our Purr-fect Barks and Bubbles Salon.

Megan Frano

Megan was born and raised locally. She has a degree in Veterinary Technology and lives in her hometown of Shandaken with her 2 birds, rats, fish, and cats Nickodemis and Lokidemur. She joined the staff of the Woodstock Animal Hospital in October of 2011 and is glad to be part of a great practice!!

Jennifer Van Steenburg

Jenn was born in Catskill, NY and grew up in Saugerties, NY. She joined the Woodstock Animal Hospital in 2010 as a client care specialist and vet assistant. Jenn is a graduate of Saugerties High School, then attended CGCC and The Gulf Coast College in Mississppi. She enjoys photography, baseball, and scrap booking. Jenn is accompanied by her husband Nick and their very handsome sons, Aiden and Liam.

Kathleen Jackson

Kathy is a native to Columbia County, New York. She has an associates degree from Columbia Greene CC and also has taken Vet Tech classes from St Petersburg Junior College online in Florida. She has worked in veterinary hospitals since 1985. Kathy has been with our practices since August 2011. She resides in Phoenicia, New York with her husband and son, a Jack Russel Terrier, and 2 cats.

Breana Wynkoop

Breana graduated from SUNY Ulster's veterinary technician program and became a licensed vet tech in January 2012. Breana was raised on a farm and current owns horses, cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits, in addition to her dogs and cats. In her spare time, she love riding horses, hiking, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and many other outdoor activities.

Donna is a Tennessee native who moved north in 2013. Donna started work here in April 2014.  She works at both the Woodstock and Port Ewen offices as a client care specialist. Donna has an absolute love for cats, especially her cat, Miley. Donna also loves mac and cheese, and the New England Patriots.

David has been a Woodstock resident most of his life, and graduated from Onteora High School in 2013.
David has owned and cared for many animals over the years including, dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, horses, and fish.
Currently he works as both a receptionist, and a kennel assistant at the Woodstock and Port Ewen hospitals.
He enjoys getting to work with animals and making sure that they go home happy and healthy.
